Dr. Ryan Flannagan has strong ties to the state of Indiana, particularly Southwestern Indiana, as he was born and raised in Jasper. Dr. Flannagan obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Biology at Indiana University. From there, he continued to Indianapolis, Indiana, where he received his Doctorate of Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
Upon completing his medical education, Dr. Ryan proceeded to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed a highly sought-after, intensive 6-year training program in plastic, reconstructive, and cosmetic surgery.
During his tenure at Cincinnati, Dr. Flannagan served as chief resident in the division of plastic, reconstructive, and hand surgery for his final year of training. Dr. Flannagan completed additional advanced cosmetic surgery training with established cosmetic surgery experts in Miami, Florida, before establishing his practice.
Dr. Flannagan has been in private practice since 2007 and has over 15 years of plastic surgery experience. Dr. Ryan and his wife, Dr. Kathleen, have established Flannagan Plastic Surgery to provide advanced cosmetic and reconstructive surgery to the people of Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois.
Dr. Kathleen A. Flannagan is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. She graduated Cum Laude from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a minor in Germanic studies. While attending Indiana University, she was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa undergraduate honors society.
Dr. Flannagan then returned to Cincinnati to attend the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honors society during her studies there before obtaining her Doctorate of Medicine degree.
After graduating from Medical school, Dr. Kathleen completed an internship at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Following this, she completed her residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Cincinnati. She then became board certified in Ophthalmology, scoring in the 99th percentile. After this, she completed an extensive two-year fellowship training in Orbital, Oculoplastic, and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Cincinnati. This has allowed her to focus on her specialty in Oculoplastic Surgery.
After completing her fellowship training, Dr. Flannagan and her family moved to Southwestern Indiana. She has been in private practice as the area’s only dedicated Oculoplastic Specialist since 2007. Dr. Kathleen has established Flannagan Plastic Surgery to provide cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the orbit, eyelids, and upper face to Southwestern Indiana and tri-state areas.
